Oregon's Governor Brown has extended Spring Break closures for all of the state, affecting our local schools in Beaverton and Oregon Trail School Districts. As we follow the school district schedule, beginning 3/14/2020 we will be closed to in-person and on-site learning through 3/31/2020. The rapidly developing situation will be re-evaluated by district and state officials on 3/25 and we will continue to follow recommendations for telecommuting and distance learning to keep our students and staff safe.

While You Are Home

There are many ways to stay engaged in music and our Maestro Music community! First, I will  be scheduling online demos to assist students and parents in live online lessons, should you prefer to continue lessons during this time.

Second, you will be receiving a great packet of out-of-the-box learning ideas that are workbook-based. You can print the "shhhh.....my teacher thinks this is practice" or download to a tablet for eco-friendly editing. As a special courtesy to our Maestro Music members, this workbook will be offered complete   FREE    in your inbox! Most of the assignments are adaptable to grade school students of any instrument level, though the language is piano-key-based.

Finally, we recognize that online learning is not going to be the best fit for every family. Should you prefer to receive make up credits instead of online lessons, you will have  90 DAYS to use them. That's right, we're extending the deadline 3x as long! Did you know that you can transfer make up credits to a friend or family member, to a lesson with another teacher or instrument, to a discount on our summer camps (we're expecting everything to be normal by then!) or even to a family on scholarship! Your safety is our priority. Following CDC guidelines, we are asking you to:

-stay home if you show signs of respiratory illness (we ask this all the time in fact, as our voice teachers and voice students cannot perform if they catch even a “minor” cold with sore throat or cough)

-wash your hands (always a good idea)

-request an online lesson at your normal time if you’re not comfortable coming to lessons
